STONEFIX Waterproof Tanking Coat is a ready to use highly flexible synthetic latex coating
developed for application to a broad range of construction substrates prior to tiling. The cured
coating remains elastic and forms a seamless barrier to water. Main application areas are internal
and external walls and floors where water protection is required including wetrooms, bathrooms,
showers, terraces and balconies.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Surfaces to be sealed must be sound, dry and clean, free from dust and grease or any contaminants which may affect adhesion of the coating. Any weakness in the substrate should be properly prepared and cured before application commences. Any dusty surfaces should be vacuumed and greasy / oily substrates should be degreased. Porous surfaces should be primed with STONEFIX Acrylic Primer. The primer can be thinned if required. See primer data sheet. Non-porous surfaces should be cleaned with a suitable solvent / cleaner. The solvent / cleaner should be checked for compatibility with the contact area and coating. No priming is necessary. When ready to apply, stir the mixture in the bucket before use. DO NOT THIN. The coating can be applied with a brush, roller or trowel. Corners and joints should be protected first by sealing with the coating and applying the STONEFIX Reinforcing Fibre Strip. When the coating is touch dry a second layer of coating should be applied to fully impregnate the STONEFIX Reinforcing Fibre Strip. The same should be repeated in areas of high risk to water permeation, e.g. water installation outlets and inlets.
Walls: Apply two coats of the STONEFIX Waterproof Tanking Coat. The second application
should be applied when the first application is touch dry (approximately 1 to 2 hours). Walls
can be tiled / covered after 12 hours cure.
Floors: Apply the first layer and then cover with the reinforcing matting, followed by the second application of coating giving a thickness of 1.5mm. Floors can be walked on / tiled / covered after 12 hours cure. Tools can be cleaned in water while product is wet. Scrape off any excess prior to immersing
in water.

SHELF LIFE: Up to 12 months when stored in cool dry conditions. Avoid extremes of temperature
and direct sunlight
LIMITATIONS: Not for use in swimming pools or areas where water may apply pressure.
Not designed for use in exposed outdoor conditions. The coating is not UV resistant.
STORAGE: Protect from extremes of temperature. Store in a cool dry environment and away
from direct sunlight.
