MIXING
1. Fill gauging water (please refer to Technical Data below) in a clean mixing container. Add powder and stir until a plastic, lump-free grout is achieved. Mix partial quantities up to 1 kg intensively by hand. For larger quantities use a suitable paddle attached to an electric drill.
2. Re-mix after a slake time of approx. 3 minutes.
GROUTING
3.Use a rubber float. Fill joints flush with the tile surface, re-grout if necessary. Allow the grout to firm up in the joint (until it is resistant to thumb pressure) and scrape off excess grout with a slightly damp sponge or sponge board.
4. After drying remove the remaining grout film with a damp sponge. Do not use a dry cloth for cleaning as there is risk of discoloration by rubbing dried grout into the damp joint.
PLEASE NOTE
- Do not apply under conditions of rain, draughts or extreme sunlight.
- Freshly grouted joints should be kept damp when working outdoors.
- Before grouting protect connection and movement joints by inserting polystyrene profiles or foam sections. Remove polystyrene profiles prior to applying the elastic sealant.
- A grout film and/or pigment stains especially with dark colours may remain on unglazed or matt glazed tiles and flags after grouting. Follow the tile manufacturer's recommendations. A trial grouting might be recommendable. Remove any remaining haze carefully while still fresh.
- Seal joints between tile surfaces, fitted elements and pipe penetrations as well as corner and connection joints with a suitable silicone sealant.
- There is risk of discoloration with light colours if, due to unfavorable conditions on site, soluble, colouring elements (e.g. pieces of tiles, additives for screeds or plasters/renders) are transported into the joint by moisture. Recommendation: Use a suitable epoxy grout.
- Use a suitable epoxy grout for grouting if the grout is exposed to water that contains free, cement aggressive carbon acid.
- Only clean water and clean tools must be used for grouting and final cleaning.
- Grouting in commercially used areas and swimming pools exposed to increased mechanical and chemical stress should be carried out with a suitable epoxy grout.
- Never add water or fresh grout and/or powder to a grout mix which has already begun to set.
Slight deviations in colour of STONEFIX Flexible Grout are possible, it is therefore recommended to only use STONEFIX Flexible Grout with the same batch number for the same project.
